As the holidays approach and 2025 draws to a close, we have been reflecting a lot on the year that just was. Like most, we faced some challenges but at the same time, we were also showered with blessings, including:
• Our amazing customers! Connecting with you all has helped us learn, grown, laugh and at times, cry. Thank you for sharing all you do with us – your energy and trust in us is absolutely the highlight of the work we do.
• Our retailers – Great Lakes Refill Co, the Downtown Sarnia Market and, most recently, Hensall House Boutique are so amazing to work with and their support has played an important role in this year’s success.
• Our vendor friends. Truly, the friends we have made are some of the most special we’ve ever had. They have encouraged us, helped us, celebrated with us and even mourned with us when we had to send our beloved best friend of 14 years, our dog, Wicket, across the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly. Thank you for always being there – we see how hard you work while still caring for those around you and we love you for it!
• Scott being nominated for an Outstanding Business Achievement Award through the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce – amazing recognition of all the care, time, and effort he has poured into R&R Self-Care in this first full year of business.
• The community donations we’ve made. Whether a door/raffle prize, monetary donation, or The Giving Soap, supporting the communities that support us is central to our values both as a business and as human beings and it is the best part of our job. (we’ll say more about this in an upcoming post)
• Sundays at the Pinery Market in Grand Bend - our niece and Jennifer’s mom and sister ended up attending with us most weekends. How cool is it to have a job where you can work AND spend quality time with family?!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting us and embracing how we are doing what we do – we couldn’t do this without you. We are looking forward to a well-deserved break over the holidays but are excited to begin planning for the New Year...including adding online ordering to our website!!
We hope you enjoy a safe, relaxing and gentle season,
Scott and Jennifer
